I don't know what it is about my debit card. Why is it that at least once a year, I get a charge on my card that is questionable. The bank froze my card which I didn't know about until this morning when I went to get a Dr. Pepper (for me) and a Cherry Limeade (for Dusty) from Sonic. The total - $2.16. Card declined. Slide it again. Card declined. So yeah, the carhop is right by me and I'm beet red from embarrassment. I have no cash. Ever. So I start digging through my purse for change. Thankfully, tons of silver. But as I sit counting change, I am cursing the bank. I didn't know yet what the problem was, but I do know that I have more than enough to get drinks that are costing me only $2.16. I did finally find enough change -- she didn't count it -- she knew I was trying to disappear into my seat.
So I call the bank. Which makes me even more angry. A charge for $9.75. From a company called Image Co. WTH??? I don't even know what this company does!! They are based in New Jersey and I am far from there. Anything I do online is through Paypal and yeah, right now I am so pissed off and frustrated. The bank gave me a phone number to call. "No one is available to take your call. Please leave a message and your call will be returned shortly." THEN!!!! "I'm sorry. This mailbox is full. Please try your call later." Again -- WTH???
So now, I am at a loss for what to do. I am going to call the bank again (this makes 3 times). Is it really Monday and I'm confused?
Just a small update
This is a company that has done this to others. I just found a site with complaints - Complaint Wire. So I am going to pick up my little guy from school and then we are going to the bank with this new info. So I can dispute and ugh get my card cancelled and a new one ordered. How will I live without my card for a week???? LOL

oh heavens! nikki! that blows...the same thing happened to me with a $5 charge that kept mysteriously showing up on my account. i finally called the bank, with me on 3-way, we called together and they refunded me all my $5 charges...all $140worth...they had been charging me for 2 years or something crazy! make sure you get this squared away...your bank will intervene if it's fraud. sorry this happened to you!! :(

That really stinks! SIL had her card declined last weekend while we were out shopping - turns out the bank had switched numbers around in her account and screwed things up. Easily straightened out but it doesn't make it easier when you're scrambling to pay for something in the store. Ugh.
Hope they get it straightened out. *hugs*
Girl, you should always keep $20 in you in a pocket in your purse somewhere in case of emergencies! Like drinks at Sonic! :p

oh no! not you too! not the same prob, but i had just got done with a month long problem with my debit card. apparently they sent my new card to my previous addy and took forever to get it. I wasn't able to use my card for a MONTH. I too, never carry cash. Have to have my card.
Did you research the company??

Oh MANNNN - That is the WORST! Thank goodness for the internet and people putting the info out there so at least you have something to show to the bank. I am so sorry this happened.

I just had to file a claim against an adult website for $94 PLUS 2 overdreaft fees totally $70... thank heaven my bank paid the items. It's SO frustrating, especially when we're all the way in Germany and can't function at all without our cards since we don't have branches to go to. I really hope it all gets worked out for you!
