Anyway, Friday the 22nd would have been her birthday and it was Relay for Life in Stillwater (where she lived). Her friends formed a team to walk in her honor and invited the family to come celebrate her birthday with them at this wonderful event.
My Aunt Dee loved Tweety Bird, and that is what my kiddos gave her for pretty much every holiday. I can't remember a time that she didn't collect Tweety stuff -- so the teams name was Team Dweedy. :)
My most fabulous Aunt Sandi ordered us shirts to match the team. And even though it was a sad event -- it was full of hope. Hope that other families have the time that we did, hope that a cure is found.
I want to share some photos that I took while we were there! :)
This is my family -- although -- my stepdaughter is MIA and I hadn't noticed this yet. My oldest has on the hat that had to be worn or carried by a member of Team Dweedy on every lap.
This is a pic of our kids -- while all my aunt's nieces and nephews made a lap for her. Destiny is advertising Team Dweedy's fundraiser -- Walking Tacos and wearing the team hat. :)
And of course since I got Lane and Destiny wearing the hat -- I had to get Colton :)
(There are other shots of Destiny -- but I will use them later)
So, all the teams had themes and I tell you, it made me smile. They had a "Grease" team with Riddell High stuff for Claire, Cancer Busters (Ghost Busters -- and they played that movie, Colton was way excited!), and also Cancer Wars (Star Wars). Look what Lane found! LOL
Okay, that's all for me -- I should have been in bed over an hour ago.
Maybe I will be in the mood to scrap some of these pics tomorrow!
